I am going to have to get by baby canine teeth removed, will the other teeth effect the adult teeth's eruption?

I'm nineteen and my baby canines are beginning to decay (not due to bad hygiene my doctor told me these teeth aren't made to last as long as they have been in my mouth) The main reason I haven't had this procedure done is I'm afraid of walking around with two gaps in my mouth looking like a retard. Instead I just have an extremely Limited smile if any at all. I was wondering if after the teeth are pulled will my surrounding teeth move in on that space before the adult canines Imerge? Also is there any way to have the adult teeth pulled down? or any way to speed up the time before they fill the space. OR any way to at least have it cheaply concealed or covered up?
