If your child is on adderall XR?

My son is 5 years old and started Kinder this year. His teacher was constantly complaining about his behavior and I do admit he is quite hyper at times. We were at wits end and took him to his pedi which did not want to put him on anything but his teacher felt differently he was below average for his age as well and we did not want him on meds but we insisted on it due to trusting his teacher. He was put on adderall XR and we felt he was zoned out but teacher said he was great. He started wondering off and getting lost at school for 30 min at a time which freaked me out and he was very emotional and would get super angry we adjusted it to the lowest dose possible and he was still to sensitive for it. We took him off and had him removed from the teachers class and he is at average and no complaints from his teacher but every now and then he gets a little out of hand. My opinion is these educators want the easy way and the child might just need to learn how to control there behavior on there own. Unless they are severely hyper every child is different. REMEMBER ADDERALL XR IS EXTENDED RELEASE IT ONLY STAYS IN THE SYSTEM FOR 12 HOURS SO BY THE EVENING TIME WHEN HE IS HOME IT HAS ALREADY WORN OFF AND WILL NOT BE IN HIS SYSTEM UNTIL THE NEXT A.M WHEN YOU GIVE IT TO HIM. ALSO MY SON HAD LOST 7 LBS AS WELL THIS MEDICATION IS ALSO ACTS LIKE AN APPETITE SUPPRESANT AND THAT IS WHY THE PEDI SHOULD WATCH HIM CLOSELY SO YOU MIGHT CONSIDER CHANGING HIS MEDS ALSO ASK AN ADULT WHO IS ON THIS MED HOW IT MAKES THEM FEEL YOU WILL BE SHOCKED TO HEAR SOME OF THERE ANSWERS. .
